The Material Behind the Color — Our XRF Results

Independently tested by Eurofins EAG Materials Science

The tested substrate was found consistent with commercially pure titanium, with titanium reported at 99.8 wt% of the measured and detected elements.

Color may be the first thing you notice about TIZZ DAZZ. The material beneath it deserves just as much attention. Titanium is central to Fine Titanium Jewelry, and we believe that describing our material should begin with understanding it.

That is why we commissioned independent X-ray fluorescence analysis, known as XRF.

What XRF examines

XRF uses X-rays to identify the elements within a material and estimate their proportions. Each element produces a characteristic signal, allowing scientists to build a picture of the material’s composition.

Our analysis used wavelength-dispersive XRF, a specialist laboratory technique. Before measurement, the surface oxide layer was removed so the laboratory could examine the underlying metal. This preparation allowed the analysis to address a specific question: what is the substrate beneath the color?

What the laboratory found

Eurofins EAG reported a composition consistent with commercially pure titanium. Titanium accounted for 99.8 wt% of the measured and detected elements in the normalized results.

The report also recorded a small nickel signal. The laboratory explained that it was within the range of typical instrument background. That explanation is part of the finding and is included in the full report.

Why we invest in testing

Independent analysis involves specialist equipment, careful preparation, laboratory time, and scientific interpretation. We choose to invest in that work because material quality deserves evidence.

For TIZZ DAZZ, this is part of developing jewelry with care: choosing the material, examining it, and making the findings available. We want you to understand the basis of our material description and have access to the original analysis.

You do not need to read a laboratory report to appreciate a piece of jewelry. But if you want to look more closely, we believe the information should be there.

Results apply to the sample tested. The 99.8 wt% figure is normalized to measured and detected elements, subject to the method’s uncertainty. It is not a minimum-purity guarantee for every piece or a skin-compatibility assessment.
